MOUNT OLIVE, Illinois, February 3, 2022 --- As previously announced on the ATA Network Podcast, Bobby Krug will run the full 2022 Skip Barber Race Series and continue his partnership with Skip Barber Racing School. The Skip Barber Race Series will take place over seven race weekends with the champion winning a scholarship to run in the 2023 Skip Barber Race Series.
“I’m really looking forward to hitting the track full time this year,” Krug said. “Last year was really about soaking in that experience because you never know if it’ll happen again and this year, it’s happening again, so let’s build off our speed and go to work.”
Krug is a championship-winning kart racer from the Greater St. Louis area and competed in the Skip Barber Race Series last year. In a limited season, he claimed multiple podium finishes and fastest lap awards in his rookie year behind the wheel of the Formula 4 car. Along with being fast on-track, Krug is a talented content creator that has documented his racing journey in the form of “race day vlogs” to his YouTube audience. His channel, ATA Network, accumulated over 300,000 views.
The Skip Barber Race Series has provided a platform for aspiring racers to develop their racecraft and for motorsport enthusiasts to expand their skills. Skip Barber Racing School graduates have taken the podium at every discipline in racing. The arrive-and-drive race series combines the expert coaching of Skip Barber instructors with a true spec series, utilizing the Mygale Formula 4 car and Ford EcoBoost motor package. Operating under SRO Motorsports America race weekends, the series will provide high-visibility and the atmosphere of a pro-race weekend.
While the race fees are covered for the 2022 season, we are still looking to fill limited sponsor slots that will help pay for media equipment, travel, and lodging.
