LEXINGTON, Ohio, October 3, 2021 --- Bobby Krug claims a fourth-place finish and a third-place podium finish in his fourth and fifth race in the Skip Barber Formula Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Varying weather conditions kept all 8 drivers in the field on their toes throughout the entire weekend. Krug carried his momentum off the NJMP podium and showed impressive speed in his first laps around Mid-Ohio by maintaining Top 3 speed through both practice sessions as he learned the tricky 2.25-mile road course. The pace picked up substantially in qualifying as Krug placed fifth on the speed charts; only missing a Top 3 qualifying spot by a tenth and the pole time within a second.

Krug continued to learn the track in Race 1 as he maintained position in the opening laps. As the field settled in, Krug slowly built up pace and began to chase down drivers ahead. He was able to pass Nathan Byrd for the fourth-place position. The Top 3 pulled away as Krug settled into fourth place and maintained that spot for the remainder of the race. Krug's best lap time in the race was a 1:31.197, approximately 1.3 second behind the fastest lap set by Jeshua Alianell.

The final race day was plaqued with wet weather as the rain fell and the slick tires were traded in for rains. The morning qualifying session was suspended after 2 laps after multiple cars went off-track due to extremely slick conditions. Race 2 starting position was based on the fastest lap from Race 1 slotting Krug into the fourth place spot for Race 2. By the time the green flag flew, track conditions seemingly began to improve as Road to Indy sessions and sunshine began to dry the track. Race officials made the decision to keep the rain tires on due to still damp track conditions and potential pop-up showers.

Within the first couple laps, Krug found speed in the dry line and was able to use that make a charge to the front of the field. After a pass down the backstretch, Krug moved his way by Johnny Guindi for the third place spot and began to run down leaders Alianell and Will Lambros. In his efforts to get to the front, Krug continued to go purple on the time charts and ran the fastest lap of the race with a 1:36.373. He was able to catch the Top 2 but unable to make a pass in the closing laps as he crossed the line in third-place, picking up his second podium in the Skip Barber Formula Series in only his fifth start in the car.
