Bobby Krug Racing Services (BKRS) is proud to announce Lane Mayer has joined the team for the 2026 season. The 16-year-old from Arnold, Missouri will compete in 206 Senior with BKRS in the Route 66 Sprint Series, along with select national events throughout the year. Lane’s time with BKRS officially begins at WKA Daytona Kartweek, where he will kick off the season competing in Ignite Senior.

“I wanted to compete in high-level racing on a VLR chassis, but I’d never driven one before,” Lane Mayer said. “I was looking for a team that could help teach me how to succeed in a new field of racing while also feeling like a family—not just a race team. BKRS checked all those boxes.”

With over 10 years of racing experience, Lane has progressed through the ranks from Kid Kart to Senior competition. His background includes competition in CKNA, Route 66, Ignite Challenge, SuperComp, and Ignite, along with five championship titles. Lane’s move to BKRS comes as he looks to challenge himself on a new platform and continue his development in a professional, team-oriented environment.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to watch Lane compete through every rung of the racing ladder,” said Bobby Krug, owner of BKRS. “I began competing in the rental kart series at the same time he was competing at Kid Karts. He’s motivated and determined to learn, and the whole team is excited to start working with him at Daytona and help him take the next step in his racing career.”

Although no one in his family raced before him, Lane’s motorsports journey began early. Originally drawn to MotoGP, he instead found karting at just five years old—and never looked back. Looking ahead, Lane has aspirations to continue climbing the racing ladder to ultimately land a career in motorsports or competing at the top-level of sports car racing in IMSA GT3 or GTP machinery.
