Looking back at the 2021 Skip Barber Race Series season

MOUNT OLIVE, Illinois, January 5, 2022 --- Bobby Krug recaps the 2021 race season with latest YouTube video. Krug competed in 4 rounds of the Skip Barber Race Series - a spec formula car series utilizing the Mygale F4 car.

The then 22-year-old St. Louis native debuted in the Skip Barber Race Series at Circuit of the Americas as they shared the track with SRO Motorsports Group and finished eighth in the rain-soaked race. Krug showed improvment in his second race weekend as he would finish sixth and third in the New Jersey Motorsports Park Lightning double-header, claiming his first of three podium finishes of the year.

"The benefit of racing in the Skip Barber Race Series is the coaching aspect," Krug said. "One of my favorite moments of the year is when I learned how to push the car at New Jersey, thanks to coaching from Carter Fartuch, and then the success of my year fell into place."

The penultimate round of the Skip Barber Race Series took place at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course where Krug would shine again as he finished fourth in the dry first race and then third in the rain-plagued second race. The final round took place at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway where rain hit once again and Krug gained 4 positions to claim his third podium of the season. Krug would bring the car home seventh in the final race after hard battling for a Top 5.

"Standing on the podium at Indianapolis was such a surreal experience and one I'll never forget," Krug said. "It's been a dream of mine since I was kid to hoist a trophy up on the sacred grounds of the speedway and to do it with my friends and dad present made it even more special."
