Bobby Krug Racing Services (BKRS) is proud to announce the return of Tommy Shereck to the BKRS Race Team for 2026, who will compete in the 206 Senior class in both the Route 66 Sprint Series and Apex Karting Championships; as well as select Cup Karts North America National events. Expanding his racing portfolio, Shereck will also take on the KA100 Masters class in both series, officially launching BKRS’s 2-cycle competition program.

“I’m looking forward to head down south the best I’ve ever been and expect good results,” said Shereck. “Competing in Apex with BKRS was a no-brainer for me to be able to stay fresh through the winter and find the last few tenths I need to compete for wins in 206 Senior during the 2026 Route 66 season and to get more experience in 2-cycle racing so I can come back to Route as a driver ready to climb the leaderboards in KA100 Masters.”

Shereck, a third-generation racer, developed his passion for motorsports at a young age while spending weekends helping his father with late model racing at local dirt tracks. In 2023, he transitioned into karting, competing in the Ignite Series at Gateway Kartplex. This year, Shereck joined the BKRS Race Team during its inaugural season in the Route 66 Sprint Series and Cup Karts North America. Racing in the 206 Senior category behind the wheel of his Lawson-powered VLR kart, he quickly made his mark by securing multiple Top-5 finishes.

“Having Tommy return for 2026 is incredibly exciting for our program,” said Bobby Krug, owner of BKRS. “His passion and work ethic are second to none in the paddock, and he has shown tremendous improvement this season. I’m eager to see his continued growth as he takes on the added challenge of 2-cycle competition.”

Shereck’s 2026 campaign with BKRS will begin at the Apex Karting Championships Southeast opener at NOLA Motorsports Park on December 12-14, 2025. The three-round winter series will continue at North Florida Karting Club in Jacksonville, FL (February 2026) and conclude at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Atlanta, GA (March 2026). Competing in Apex during the winter months provides valuable seat time while most Midwest tracks are closed, allowing drivers to sharpen their skills ahead of the summer season.

Following the winter program, Shereck will take on the highly competitive Route 66 Sprint Series, with stops at New Castle Motorsports Park on May 1-3, Norway Motorsports Park on June 5-7, Badger Kart Club on July 17-19, and the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America on August 14-16. Together, the Apex and Route 66 schedules deliver a strong mix of year-round racing at premier venues. BKRS continues to expand opportunities for drivers looking to compete in both 4-cycle and 2-cycle categories, with additional seats still available for the 2026 season.
