Bobby Krug Racing Services (BKRS) is proud to announce its first confirmed driver for the 2026 season: Matt Zigaitis, who will represent the team in the 206 Masters class of the Apex Karting Championships and the 206 Heavy class in the Route 66 Sprint Series. The addition of Zigaitis to the team underscores BKRS’s commitment to expanding opportunities for Masters and Heavy drivers within both regional and national karting programs.

"I’m honored to continue my journey with Bobby Krug Racing Services as we take on the 2026 season," said Zigaitis. "From my early days in the iDrive program to now competing at this level, BKRS has been a constant source of support and growth for me as a driver. I’m excited to represent the team in both the Apex Karting Championships and Route 66 Sprint Series, and I look forward to building on our success together."

Zigaitis has been a BKRS-supported driver since his early beginnings in the iDrive Rental Kart Series, where he earned the Heavy Class Championship in 2021. Building on that success, he captured the Ignite Heavy Championship in 2023, solidifying his reputation as a consistent front-runner. Over the course of his career, Zigaitis has celebrated multiple race victories and podium finishes across the Gateway Kartplex Ignite Series, Margay Ignite Challenge, and Margay Ignite Street Cup.

Beyond the track, Zigaitis proudly served his country in the United States Navy, completing two deployments on the flight deck of the USS John C. Stennis. His military background inspired him to launch Global Force Kartsport, a veteran-based kart racing team with a mission to bring military veterans together through the sport of racing.

"Matt has been part of the BKRS family from the very beginning, and it’s been incredible to watch his development as both a racer and a leader in the karting community," said Bobby Krug, owner of BKRS. "His passion for the sport, combined with his commitment to building opportunities for veterans through Global Force Kartsport, makes him a perfect fit for our 2026 program. Bringing Matt on board also reflects our push to strengthen the Masters and Heavy fields across our supported series. We’re thrilled to have him officially on board and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish this season."

Zigaitis’ 2026 campaign with BKRS will kick off at the Apex Karting Championships Southeast opener at NOLA Motorsports Park on December 12-14, 2025. The three-round winter series will continue at North Florida Karting Club in Jacksonville, FL (February 2026) and conclude at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Atlanta, GA (March 2026). Running Apex in the winter provides valuable track time during the months when most Midwest circuits are closed, giving drivers a competitive edge heading into the summer. Following the winter program, Zigaitis will contest the highly competitive Route 66 Sprint Series, which visits New Castle Motorsports Park on May 1-3, Norway Motorsports Park on June 5-7, Badger Kart Club on July 17-19, and wraps up at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America on August 14-16. Together, the Apex and Route 66 schedules offer a strong mix of year-round racing at premier venues. BKRS continues to welcome Masters and Heavy drivers into its programs, with additional seats still available for the 2026 season.

Bobby Krug Racing Services supports drivers across premier karting series, including the Route 66 Sprint Series, Cup Karts North America, and Apex Karting Championships. Offering dedicated support for both 4-cycle and 2-cycle competition, BKRS provides expert mechanical services and personalized driver coaching. With Arrive & Drive packages and comprehensive support for kart owners, BKRS is committed to helping both rookies and experienced racers succeed.
