Krug finishes runner-up in SRO Esports ROG Invitational

Updated: Nov 22, 2022

Indianapolis, INDIANA, October 10, 2021 --- Bobby Krug finished runner-up in the ROG Invitational at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in conjunction with the Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS. The live esports race showcased America’s top real world pros in an exclusive race on Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Krug qualified fifth in the No. 16 Skip Barber Racing School Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO. At the start of the 30-minute race, a collision at the front of the field took out the Top 4, putting Krug to the lead. Krug maintained solid race pace but began to lose speed on the competition, falling back as low as fourth-place. In the closing laps, more contact ahead promoted Krug to second-place and defended that spot to the checkered flag.

"One of the most interesting trophies that I will be adding to my collection," Krug said. "Although not a real-life racing opportunity, I really respect the virtual world. My relationship with the Skip Barber Racing School came from a sim racing contest. I had a great time representing Skip Barber on this stage."

With only one round remaining in the Skip Barber Formula Race Series, Krug maintains third in the overall points standings. The final Skip Barber Formula Race Series event will be November 29-30 at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
